Do I see it right that imprinting is only useful for creatures if I ride them? So imprinting on a boss killer army is not useful because I don't ride them? 2. Some of the Ovis are from my other char from another server.

The mating cool down timer only means it won't drop another egg until the timer runs out, but that maewing can still act as a male and breed with other maewings that are ready to mate. The maewing that no longer has the cool down timer will drop an egg.

It's the "harvest amount" cursor on the "youy ARK settings" screen.
