WebSep 3, 2024 · Stress groups were exposed to 20-minute foot shock test, which followed the empathy test. This followed anxiety tests including Open Field and Elevated Plus Maze Tests. Blood sampling was completed under carbon dioxide anesthesia. Brain tissues were extracted; amygdaloidal nuclei and prefrontal cortex regions were separated. WebPrevious studies suggest that stress associated to sleep deprivation methods can affect the expression of sleep rebound. In order to examine this association and possible mechanisms, rats were exposed to footshock stress during or immediately after a 96-h period of paradoxical sleep deprivation (PSD) and their sleep and heart rate were recorded.

WebNov 1, 2024 · The effect of footshock stress on orexin neurons was shown to last for weeks in susceptible rats (Chen et al., 2014). Other evidence indicates that the action of orexins on PVT neurons in response to stressful event may lead to neuroplasticity changes that may make the PVT more sensitive to novel challenges ( Heydendael et al., 2011 ). WebMay 2, 2011 · Footshock stress is CRF dependent and activates orexin neurons in the PFA and DMH . On the other hand, OXA infusion increases the release of corticosterone and NE [ 114 , 115 ]. Both NE antagonists (ip) and CRF antagonists (icv) block reinstatement of cocaine-seeking induced by icv OXA infusion, indicating an interplay of … WebThe effect of intermittent footshock stress (0.8 mA; 0.2 s on; 40 s off on the average; for 10 min/day) on oral fentanyl (50 or 75 μg/ml) self-administration (SA) in operant chambers was examined in male rats. In Experiment 1, after 1 month of initiation of the fentanyl SA by partial water deprivation, animals were tested for lever-pressing ...
WebJan 9, 2008 · Footshock stress-induced aversion is mediated by the dynorphin/KOR system. Significant aversion was evident to a compartment previously paired with shock compared with unshocked controls. Unshocked controls spent nearly equal time in both compartments during the 15 min session. Wild-type (WT) mice pretreated with the κ … WebThe data reveal that stress is not a unitary phenomenon: seemingly minor differences in stress parameters (e.g., the same total amount of footshock applied intermittently versus continuously) determine whether stress will be immune suppressive and tumor enhancing, just as such parametric variations were seen to determine the neurochemical basis ...
WebThe antioxidant activity of Withania somnifera (WS) glycowithanolides was assessed in chronic footshock stress induced changes in rat brain frontal cortex and striatum. The stress procedure, given once daily for 21 days, induced an increase in superoxide dismutase (SOD) and lipid peroxidation (LPO) …
WebObjectives: The objective of this study was to test the hypothesis that cannabinoid type 1 receptor (CB1R) signaling is required for stress-potentiated reinstatement of cocaine seeking in rats. Methods: Following i.v. cocaine self-administration (2 h access/day) and extinction in male rats, footshock stress alone does not reinstate cocaine ... ceds数据库WebOct 13, 2024 · Heat shock factor 1 (HSF1) is a master stress-responsive transcriptional factor, protecting cells from death.
